The Classic Armenia tour introduces the country's history, architecture, culture and urban life. All five nights are spent in Yerevan, with daily excursions to the main sights of the capital and surrounding area. Garni Temple, the rock-cut Geghard Monastery, Republic Square, Yerevan Cascade, historic Zvartnots and the churches of Echmiadzin are the main highlights.
Day 1 | Arrival in Yerevan: A tour representative welcomes travelers at the airport and arranges the hotel transfer. No sightseeing is scheduled, leaving time to rest and get acquainted with Yerevan. Overnight at Imperial Palace Hotel.
Day 2 | Garni and Geghard, from ancient heritage to rock-cut architecture: After breakfast, travel outside the city to Garni Temple, Armenia's best-known pre-Christian monument. Its stone columns and elevated position overlook the surrounding valley. The site also contains fortress remains and historic baths. From the Garni area, see the Symphony of Stones, natural basalt columns resembling organ pipes. Continue to Geghard Monastery, partly carved into the rock, with distinctive stone spaces, chambers and architecture. Return to Yerevan for the night.
Day 3 | History Museum of Armenia and Vernissage Market: After breakfast, visit the History Museum of Armenia in Republic Square. Its archaeological collections and artifacts from different periods introduce the country's past. Walk through the city centre to open-air Vernissage Market, with Armenian crafts, art and souvenirs, and time for shopping and exploration. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 4 | Yerevan city tour: Explore the capital's central areas, including Mashtots Avenue, Theatre Square and France Square. See Republic Square's distinctive pink tuff buildings and continue along Northern Avenue to the Opera and Ballet building. Visit Yerevan Cascade, a terraced complex featuring contemporary art, with city views and, weather permitting, Mount Ararat. Victory Park and the Mother Armenia statue are also included. The day ends at Tsitsernakaberd, the memorial to the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. Optional: a Yerevan brandy factory visit with tasting can be arranged at the stated price of USD 20 per person. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 5 | Zvartnots, Echmiadzin and Saint Hripsime Church: After breakfast, visit the ruins and museum of Zvartnots to learn about its architecture. Continue to Echmiadzin, one of Armenia's principal religious centres, to visit the cathedral and treasury museum, followed by Saint Hripsime Church. Return to the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 6 | Departure: Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport, where the journey ends.
